Thank you Manu and Marcel,
I will now switch from Panther to Elefant...all these interesting animal names, it's almost like going to the ZOO !
This is the Pre-ROCO release from the Ukraine, it was actually based on the Ferdinand which was the fore-runner to the Elefant.
I refined this model by adding the Ball turret, bow machine gun as well as numerous other details to complete this little project.
The camouflage reflects late spring /summer during Operation Citadel.

Hello Everyone,
I thought I would switch to something that rolls on tires....
Here is the Heavy 8 wheeled Armored Car. (SdKfz 231) At the time of this build, no kits were available so I had to improvise. The chassis is from the ROCO SdKfz 234 armored car model and I stole the wheels and tires from the ROCO Opel Blitz. The upper hull, fenders and turret were all scratch built using scaled down drawings to arrive at the correct dimensions and angles for the various components. It took months to complete but at the time it was well worth the effort.

Hello Jean-Pascal,
Yes it was a lengthy project and I did keep all the reference material but I doubt I'll ever build another...once was enough! ;-)

Hello Friends,
The PREISER Model of the SdKfz 11 Halftrack was the prime mover for the 10.5 cm Howitzer also from PREISER. Both are very accurate and detailed models. The fun part was of course adding all the small details as well as paint and finally trying to achieve the ultimate patina for that "realistic" appearance....I'm still not there yet, but getting closer. ;-)

Hello everyone,
This is another Panther Variant on the "Late" G Model chassis. It was conceived as a heavily armored, up gunned (88mm) "Tank Destroyer". This model is from Trident and they did not pay too close attention to the little things that make a great model. The original gun barrel was anemic so I turned out a thicker one and reinstalled the muzzle brake. Attention to the small details paid off and I sprayed the base in dark yellow with over sprays of red/brown and dark green. To create the "Ambush" effect, I used a brush to define the separation of colors and then I dappled in places to break it up even further.

Thank You my Friends,
I think it is the many different camouflage schemes employed by the Wehrmacht that attracts me to German armored fighting vehicles. Some of which are quite challenging to reproduce at 1-87 scale....call me a "Glutton for Punishment"!

And thanks for dropping by the WARZONE.

Hello Friends,
Here is my version of the late Panzer IV model J. This was the last variant produced before the war ended. It was equipped with "mesh" skirt armor supported by a tubular mount. The turret skirt armor remained as on the previous models. The base for this model was of course, the ROCO Minitanks model (#705) that replaced the original Pz. lV (#108) that was released in the early 1960's...a vast improvement to be sure.

This time a "Late" model Panther G. This was the last (production) variant of the war. It was equipped with numerous improvements over the Panther A. By the wars end more than 2,900 of this model had been produced. This model is based on the Trident series and again the Zimmereitt anti-magnetic paste was applied and of course, the Heiser's cast resin track assemblies. This example also has the "Unit" applied Ambush Camouflage scheme and a light patina to add that battle worn look. Back in 2005 when I entered this one in a nearby IPMS chapter Scale Model Contest, it must have impressed the judges, it won 1st place in the Military category....surprised the Hell out of me!
