Bonjour dites moi, quelqun sait il comment fonctionne les numéros de véhicules genre USA 3036947 ce numéro renvoie t il à un type exact de véhicules ou est-ce un numéro qui en suit un autre peu importe le modèle ?
Autre question l étoile des alliés entre UK et USA y a t il une différence ?

Hello Jerome, Thanks for the comments.
According to what little information I have, (Decal sheets) the vehicle serial numbers are broken down into groups such as, Trailers, Jeeps, Ambulances, 1-1/2 ton trucks and 2-1/2 to 5 ton trucks. Then the Halftracks and variants, and finally the armor and it's variants, such as M36 Jackson, M18 Hellcat, M10 wolverine and M-7 Priest, which is actually self propelled artillery. As far as the Star insignia, I know of no differences in the design.
I hope this is helpful, perhaps there are other members with more information to add.

En gros il y a deux types de n°: ceux de capot qui sont ceux du véhicule au sein du US Army et ceux de pare choc qui explique le rôle du véhicule dans son bataillon d'affectation.
Pour le capot le ou les 2 premiers donnent le type ou la classe de poids du bestiau.
Ensuite c'est son n° d'ordre d'arrivée dans les stocks militaires
Souvent est ajouté un S pour les véhicules déparasités.
Les chiffres et lettres peuvent être peints en blanc ou d'autres fois en bleu. Pourquoi??? je n'ai pas trouvé.
Pour le pare choc il y a à gauche le N° de division puis celui de régiment suivi d'une lettre ou un symbole indiquant le type de régiment exemple: I pour infanterie, triangle blanc pour blindés....
Du côté droit du pare choc les premières lettres indiquent la section (HQ pour unité de commandement par exemple) et le N° de véhicule dans la section
Lors de la destruction d'un véhicule son n° de capot sera radié mais son n°dans la section pourra être affecté à son remplaçant.
Un peu de lecture pour essayer de comprendre en sachant que les abréviations peuvent être très variées.

Hi Everyone,
I had so much fun with the WC 63 conversion, I thought I would create the "General's" personal transport. Here is a photo of the actual vehicle....below that is my first attempt. I need to shorten it up as the wheel base is too spread out.

Here is my rendition of an Audi Front that was procured (confiscated) by the Wehrmacht for service in Von Kluge's "Army Group Center" (in Russia). Due to the lack of an aerial recognition flag, a large white swastika was painted on the hood to prevent "friendly" attacks.
